Homemade Coleslaw
Coleslaw, as we know of it, is a very simple dish that has changed over many hundreds of years to what we know of it today. However, the first iteration we have found of the dish ages back into Roman Times, when they sliced cabbage, cut eggs, added vinegar and added spices. On the other hand, in most recent times the Dutch served a shredded cabbage that is very similar to our Coleslaw as we see it today.
As to Coleslaw being so popular today, is that the dish, or rather known as a side dish to our times now, is very popular with large meals, as it is cheap, refreshing to eat, very easy to make and pairs extremely well with very rich meals.
When I was trying out the Coleslaw we made, it came out very refreshing, more refreshing than the store bought version, and the taste of all the vegetables and vinegar is more prominent allowing giving me a light and refreshing taste alongside the rich meals I had with them. With this it is way cheaper to make compared to the version bought as stores.
